I have created widescreen menus for a DVD (setup 853x480, converted to 720x480 anamorphic). If watching with a 4x3 display, I want the sides cut off, aka , "pan scan." This seems to work perfectly well in my tests, between my 16x9 and my 4x3 television. But I just got feedback from someone that when watching on a 4x3 television, the menu is letterboxed, and the button shapes are in the wrong place. I have set the menu to 16x9 pan-scan. Is there some other setting I need to set to force the menu to pan-scan, EVEN if the DVD player is set to letterbox? The background of the offending menu (scene selection) is a PSD file. The main menu has a motion menu from After Effects, and it behaved correctly. Is there some way to flag the PSD file to force 16x9 pan scan? thanks, SF
