I'm still acquiring my footage in anamorphic standard definition DV.  For the last few years I've been trying to squeeze the best out of this format when releasing to standard definition DVD.  Currently I'm transcoding the DV footage to Apple's Uncompressed 4:2:2 8-bit codec using Nattress 24p & Chroma plug-ins to a progressive 24p intermediate and then encoding via Compressor 2 to 16x9 DVD.  The results are decent, but I continually have trouble with getting the 24p settings to work and the video still looks a little soft for my taste.  Any ideas?  Would BitVice v1.7 do a better job of encoding a progressive and native 16x9 Mpeg2?
