Bits and pieces about technology - DVD, BD, web, etc.
Well, everyone, I certainly hope you like the new look and revised organization of the Recipe4DVD.com site... I've spent a fair amount of time trying to coordinate the functions of the menu, but if you feel something belongs under a different parent menu, please tell me so. I also spent
Want to kick butt in the Menu Editor and finish your DVDs faster? Use the "Power Editors" secret weapon - QuicKeys Apple sadly made it difficult to use keyboard shortcuts while in the Menu Editor, but adding QuicKeys to your Mac can make a WORLD of difference in how fast you can edit and move menu buttons and align elements in the Graphical View! Here are my most-used "Secret" Menu Editor QuickKeys:
Hi again This weekend I finally had the chance to create a Script I have been wanting to do since DSP4 came out. Once I saw GPRM partitioning, I KNEW it was finally time to do the 16-element playlist script that I had been itching to do!
GPRM Partitioning gives DSP4 the ability to treat 16-bit GPRMs as if they were 2x8-bit, 4x4-bit. 8x2-bit or, most importantly 16 one-bit registers

Some of the project posted today include: Using Scripts to select Button, Stories, and Markers, some
Use Photoshop Actions for lightning-fast graphics manipulation for DVD menus, slideshows, etc.. When the time comes and you are faced with the daunting task of processing a ton of photos or images for DVD slideshows, I certainly hope you have become famliar with the wonders of Adobe Photoshop actions.
Man - where do I begin? 1 - New Tutorials Section - these will be coming online starting this week (August 6) - in fact, the first completed tutorial went up today - Scripting A Random Play function - a cool trick for when you need to make a DVD that just randomly cycles its content over and over. I've got a few dozen more I have been waiting to find timeto write, and NOW is the time!
Looking for the place to get great answers about DVD authoring? You've found it! Recipe4DVD.com is the internet home of me, "the DVD Guy" Bruce Nazarian, a busy DVD Consultant, Author and Producer. This project uses scripts and Variables to keep track of WHICH of the two menus generated the request to play the Track.
- Each Menu uses a SetMenu script to establish a value in GPRM 0 that corresponds to a Menu you are currently in.
- The Original Menu sets the value to 1, and the Alternate Menu sets the value to 2.
- When a button is pressed, the button navigates to the selected Track,
- When playback is finished, the “Find The Source Menu Script” determines the source of the play request, by testing the GPRM
- 0 for its current value –
